Cache Valley Bee Supply ("we," "us," or "our") operates cachevalleybeesupply.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Information We Collect
Chat Widget
Our site includes a chat assistant powered by a third-party AI service. When you type a message in the chat widget, that text is transmitted to our chatbot API endpoint (/api/chatbot) to generate a response. We do not store your chat messages beyond the duration of your session, and we do not use chat content to identify you personally.
Analytics
We use two analytics providers to understand how visitors use our site:
- Cloudflare Web Analytics collects anonymized, aggregated data about page views, referring pages, browser type, and country. It does not use cookies and does not track individual users across sites. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) collects pageview, session, and event data to help us measure engagement and improve the site. GA4 sets first-party cookies (e.g.
_ga,_gid) and receives a truncated IP address; we enable Google's IP anonymization feature so your full IP is never stored. See Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out site-wide by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Cookies and Local Storage
We use your browser's localStorage to save your shopping cart contents between visits. This data is stored entirely on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. The only cookies on this site are first-party Google Analytics cookies described above; we do not use cookies for advertising.
Affiliate Link Clicks
Many links on this site are Amazon affiliate links. When you click one, you pass through a short server-side redirect at /out/amazon/… and are then sent to Amazon.com with our affiliate tag (cachevalleybeesupply-20). Amazon may record your click and any subsequent activity per Amazon's Privacy Notice. We do not receive any personally identifiable information about you from Amazon as a result of these clicks.
Our redirect writes one log entry per click to a Cloudflare D1 database so we can understand which products and pages drive interest. Each entry contains only: the product ASIN, the page you clicked from (on our site), your country (derived by Cloudflare from your IP, the IP itself is not stored by us), a Cloudflare data-center code, and a truncated browser user-agent string. We do not store IP addresses, account identifiers, or any cookie values in this log.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the chat assistant experience
- To understand site traffic and usage patterns (via anonymized analytics)
- To maintain your shopping cart state across sessions (via localStorage)

Data Retention
We do not maintain a database of personal information. Chat messages are not logged on our end. Cloudflare Web Analytics and Google Analytics data are retained by those providers per their own data retention policies. Affiliate click log entries in Cloudflare D1 are retained for up to 180 days and may be pruned sooner once they are no longer useful for reporting. localStorage data remains on your device until you clear your browser storage.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Opt out of data sharing with third parties
Because we collect very limited personal data, most requests can be fulfilled by simply clearing your browser's localStorage. For any other requests, reach out via our Facebook page.
Children's Privacy
Our site is not directed at children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
